Story

American mining engineer named Jennings Cox supposedly invented the drink in 1898. In the town of Daiquiri in Cuba after running out of gin while throwing a cocktail party. 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 oz agave syrup

Steps

  1. Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and agave syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

Garnish

There are several options for garnishing a Margarita. It can be as simple as placing lime and lemon slices into the glass, or carefully arranging lime and lemon slices on a pick and placing them inside the drink. Get creative!
