Jamaican Rum Punch

Story

The drink became the fashionable refreshment for artist, aristocrats, and intellectuals across Europe. By 1655 the “modern” rum punch was born when Jamaican rum from the West Indies became the alcohol of choice for much of the Western world.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Jamaican overproof white rum
  • 1/4 oz grenadine 
  • 2 oz orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed

Steps

  1. Add the rum, grenadine, orange juice, pineapple juice , and lime juice into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.
